Banana Bread.

I want to share with you a recipe from one of my go-to cookbooks. And this recipe you are going to LOVE!

But first I have to say sorry this post is a few days later than I planned but I had a fun filled week of celebrating my 2nd anniversary of turning 29. Watching Les Mis and eating a burrito the size of a small child. Nothing says Happy Birthday more than that. It was simply awesome!

And can I just tell you that this really was the best carrot cake that I have ever tasted. And that frosting, oh my goodness I wanted to swim in it.  Thank you friend that brought it over. It was one of the highlights of my birthday weekend bash! (And the extra hard workout that I had to do was so worth eating this cake!)

I also had every intention of sharing half of  it with Kyle. But after this picture was taken I couldn't resist.  That frosting was calling my name. Good thing it was my birthday so I could get away with it. *This is what reminded me of the recipe I am going to share.

Remember how I said I was going to have to spend all my time on my treadmill for the rest of my life next few months. Well not on Saturday.  Happy Birthday Janel!

Just look at that blue sky.  Warm enough to not freeze my buns off but still cold enough that I wasn't a sweaty mess when I got home. It was awesome. And I even ran farther than I have all winter (well since Ragnar back in November).  It was nice to get some good ol' Vitamin D!

How sad is it that just 3 months ago I ran 26 miles at a faster pace that I ran my 7 miles yesterday? It isn't fair how quickly you loose endurance and how stinking hard and long it takes to get it back.

The rest of the day was spent hanging out with my cute hubby and crazy rugrats.

And eating cookies the size of our heads.
Here's to another year Older and (hopefully from my monthly reading) Wiser too.

But here is my recipe that is "oh so good"!

And the best thing is that for one serving, it is only 125 calories and 4 grams of fat. I tend to try to keep my snacks around 125-150 calories so one slice of this bread it perfect for that. And seriously this bread cooking makes your house smell so good.
Now I just have to wait for my bananas to get alittle browner and then Kyle will forgive me for not sharing more of my carrot cake with him.

Any January Birthdays? Anyone seen Les Mis? What did you think?
I really liked it. I am not going to tell you how long I didn't wait to add a Les Mis pandora station to my list.

Cold or warm weather runners? What temperature does it have to before you will run outside?
In Omaha we were crazy. I think we were still running outside when it was in the teens.  Now, it has to be at least above freezing (but even then I usually wuss out and stay on the TM).

Who loves banana bread?

  3. January 16th baby! But I can't believe I turned 31. Running is Hong Kong is the opposite. How long can you run outside before your face melts off and you get heatstroke. Sweet tropics. Happy birth! And that banana bread looks delish.
